Washington University School of Law

Washington University School of Law has been home to
outstanding students and faculty for over 125 years.

Center for Empirical Research

The Center for Empirical Research in the Law supports application of sophisticated empirical methodology to legal studies research. Housed in the Law School, CERL provides research infrastructure to affiliated projects, including to the Clearinghouse, and supports the research activities of faculty and students throughout the university. CERL-affiliated faculty also train law students, doctoral students, and legal academics in empirical methods through workshops and traditional courses.

American Culture Studies

American Culture Studies is a multidisciplinary program within Arts and Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis. The program is committed to the notion that people learn best when they draw from a broad range of perspectives. The program emerged from the realization among faculty that their scholarship and their teaching benefited from an extended conversation with people in different disciplines.

Center for Interdisciplinary Studies

Created in 1999 at the Washington University School of Law, the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies supports interdisciplinary legal research and scholarship. The Center sponsors annual programs and activities that focus on cutting-edge legal issues and that require expertise, exploration, and discussion from other disciplines.

The Clearinghouse has been generously supported by the National Science Foundation.
